Great photos.

I was reading your sidebar. Take the camera off of auto and shoot, shoot, shoot. You will get some photos that you don't like but you will also get some photos that will amaze you. If you don't like it, erase it, and try something different.

Make copies of your photos and experiment with your Photoshop. Levels, saturation, color balance, contrast. Have fun.

Post processing with Photoshop to make the photo look like I remembered it.

Always shoot the highest resolution possible.

Usually scenes like this are dramatic because of the bold colors and sharp contrasts in them. This one does it with subtlety. Quite charming.
